"Barbarians, and Romans, and Jews—Oh My! Imagining Gaul in the Early Middle Ages" presented by Professor Jon Arnold, History Dept., University of Tulsa. The collapse of the ancient Roman empire left its former territories in confusion—not only about their own identities, but about their neighbors’. This talk will trace what these “views from the edge” reveal about both late antique Gaul and the various societies pondering its land and people.

The Medieval Fair Free Lecture Series is cosponsored by the Center for Medieval and Renaissance Studies University of Oklahoma.
Come learn more about the middle ages just for the fun of learning! No papers, no test, just interesting information about life long ago.
This event is made possible, in part, by a grant from the Norman Arts Council Hotel Tax Grant Program and the National Endowment for the Arts.
