Medieval Fair will host its first-ever Food-to-Go Spectacular and Virtual Extravaganza April 9-11 in an effort to give a taste of the fair to those who look forward to making the annual pilgrimage to Norman each spring for three days of food, fun and family.
The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, April 9-10, and from noon to 6 p.m. on Sunday, April 11.
Nearly two dozen of the fair’s most popular food trucks will be arrayed at Reaves Park in Norman for the three-day Fair Food-to-Go spectacular. Parking will be free at the park for patrons to pick up food from their favorite fair food truck and take it home to watch the performances of the Virtual Extravaganza
“The Medieval Fair being ‘almost open’ is parallel to where we are with COVID-19,” said Medieval Fair director Ann Marie Eckart. “We’re almost back to normal. We just have to keep doing the right thing until we can get there 100% safely. Like the first flowers of spring, it is time to start blooming, to start bringing hope. We need to support and nurture our community, the small businesses, the artists, the performers.”
The Medieval Fair Food-to-Go Spectacular will feature classic Medieval Fair food offerings from Big G’s Ribs & Turkey Legs, Big G’s Cajun, Hoopingarner Concession, Ozark Mountain Funnel Cakes & Handcrafted Lemonade, Nut Works Gourmet Roasted Nuts, B&G Concessions, House of Douglas Bakery, Oz Highland Farm, Scotsfare Heritage Meat Pies, Brew Boys BBQ, Unlimited Concessions, Dan’s Indian Tacos, Roadhouse Concessions, Cutie Pies, Tad’s Bodacious Burritos, Ye Old Meating Place, Guiltless Concession, Totally Nuts Oklahoma and Mr. Fries.
Masks and social distancing will be required for patrons while at Reaves Park. There will be no live performances on-site and gathering at the park is discouraged.
